The Sanctuary Movement Team is a member of the Athens-area Interfaith Sanctuary Coalition (ISC) which works to protect and stand with immigrants. ISC is dedicated to offering hospitality, safety, and opportunities for all immigrants to participate fully in our shared community, regardless of their immigration status.
“In light of the death of Renee Good and the countless harms being done to our immigrant neighbors, the question was raised at the last UUFA Board meeting – What does it mean to live our values? Not just in an individual sense, but as a congregation. As more and more of us are called upon to act out our faith in public resistance to tyranny, how do we resist with LOVE? How do we, as a congregation, set an example of non-violent resistance? In the February 1 forum beginning at 9:15, Beto Mendoza will offer suggestions as to how we can train ourselves in this work. In the SJAT meeting following the service, Rev. Pippin will continue the discussion.”

UUFA Caregiver Support Group Here to Help Are you a caregiver? Feeling lost and forgetting your own identity as a caregiver is easy. You are not alone! The UUFA Caregiver Support Group is forming to provide mutual support for individuals who are caring for loved ones who are facing challenges such as aging, dementia, cancer, multiple sclerosis, and other conditions.
