Summary:

Waives sovereign and governmental immunities for local governments and their employees in matters related to individuals subject to immigration detainer requests.  Action contact House members and tell them to vote no when it comes up for a vote.  If passed, this bill would make it very easy for individuals to sue local governments OR their employees.

Passed the Senate on 2-13-2025; assigned to the House Public Safety and Homeland Security The first hearing was heard on 3/12/2025.  A video of the testimony can be found here beginning 1:09 minutes into the video. A second hearing of the House Public Safety and Homeland Security Committee was held on 3/27/2025 video Here beginning 1:08 to 1:22, passed and sent to the Rules Committee.
