  Dear Advocates, Georgia Parent Support Network (GPSN) is sharing NAMI’s advocacy alert in support of statewide efforts addressing House Bill 295.Over 21% of the Georgia’s homeless population has a serious mental illness. HB 295 criminalizes homelessness and encourages cities and counties to arrest people who are homeless or be faced with a tax reduction by property owners who have people who are homeless on their property thus criminalizing mental health. People with SMI deserve Help Not Handcuffs.
